Since 2017, DMV Chess has been providing in-person chess tournaments and instruction for both children and adults. In March 2020, DMV Chess was the first organization to organize high-quality online tournaments and courses (all of which are still running post-pandemic). Throughout the following years we established a significant physical presence in other states like New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Texas. We also developed our Chess in the Schools program which runs everywhere in the United States.
Our Mission
DMV Chess believes that chess is great for children. Chess teaches kids critical thinking and helps them boost their confidence. It’s also just lots of fun! We want every child in the U.S. (and around the world) to be exposed to the wonderful game of chess.
