♟️ About the NCCL School Chess Club
- The club meets on-site at NCCL School on Mondays, starting at 3:50 p.m. and ending at 4:50 p.m.
- The Fall 2026 session is open to grades K through 8. There will be 8 Monday meetings from October 19 through December 14, 2026.
- Meeting dates are October 19 and 26; November 2, 9, 16, and 30; and December 7 and 14. There will be no club on November 23 due to school closure.
- The cost is $144 for the complete 8-meeting session.
- Each meeting lasts one hour and includes a 20–30 minute chess lesson followed by guided practice and playing time.
- The club is led by Coach Bob, a retired full-time teacher with years of experience teaching children. He is also a Class A–rated tournament player with the US Chess Federation.
- We love helping children improve at chess and seeing the progress they make both on and off the board! More than 10,000 chess players have benefited from DMV Chess programs, and we're excited to bring an afterschool chess club to NCCL School!
