DMV Chess periodically gives out free entries into our extensive in-person tournament calendar.

We’ll also provide each student with a free US Chess membership once they compete in one of our tournaments! We hope this opportunity encourages students to practice chess outside of the afterschool program!

• The club meets on-site at Edified Christian Academy every Wednesday from 4–5 p.m.
• The Fall 2026 session is open to grades K through 8. There will be 8 meetings from October 14 through December 16.
• The club meets every Wednesday that school is in session. There will be no club on November 11 because the school is closed for students and no club on November 25 because of Thanksgiving break.
• The cost is $144 for the complete 8-meeting session. If you cannot afford the $144 fee, please click THIS LINK to register for scholarship assistance. We do not want kids to miss out on Chess Club due to lack of funds.
• Each meeting lasts one hour and includes a 20–30 minute chess lesson followed by guided practice and playing time.
• All DMV Chess instructors are friendly coaches with extensive chess and tournament experience.
• We love helping children improve at chess and seeing the progress they make both on and off the board! More than 10,000 chess players have benefited from DMV Chess programs, and we're excited to bring an afterschool chess club to Edified Christian Academy!
