♟️ About the Cedar Grove Elementary School Chess Club
- The club meets on-site at Cedar Grove Elementary School in Classroom 14 on Wednesdays, starting at 4:00 p.m. and ending at 5:00 p.m. The school is located at 24001 Ridge Road, Germantown, MD 20876.
- The Winter 2026–2027 session is open to Cedar Grove Elementary School students in grades K through 5. There will be 8 Wednesday meetings from December 2, 2026 through February 3, 2027.
- Meeting dates are December 2, 9, and 16, 2026; January 6, 13, 20, and 27, 2027; and February 3, 2027. There will be no club on December 23 (early dismissal) or December 30 (winter break).
- The cost is $144 for the complete 8-meeting session. We will never turn a student away due to lack of funds, so please email josh@dmvchess.com to request a free scholarship spot.
- Each meeting lasts one hour and includes a 20–30 minute chess lesson followed by guided practice and playing time.
- We love helping children improve at chess and seeing the progress they make both on and off the board! More than 10,000 chess players have benefited from DMV Chess programs, and we're excited to bring an afterschool chess club to Cedar Grove Elementary School!
