An after-school activity to look forward to
Give your child a regular time to explore chess, try new ideas, and enjoy playing with other young learners. Chess Foundations brings the chess club experience online, with engaging instruction and opportunities to put new skills into practice.
Run by DMV Chess, this online club welcomes students from different schools. It is designed for developing scholastic players, including beginners and kids who have more serious experience playing the game.
Four options. Pick the day that works for you.
Once a week is a great way to participate. Your child does not need to attend all four sessions—or multiple sessions each week—to enjoy the club. Choose a regular weekday session or our Sunday option, with additional sessions available for extra learning and play.
After-school options

Learn something new. Then put it into play.
Sessions usually combine:
- Interactive lessons that encourage students to think, participate, and explore ideas.
- Chess practice to try out what they have learned.
- Instructor game review to help students learn from their decisions.
Along the way, students build tactical awareness, calculation, strategy, endgame knowledge, and thoughtful playing habits. For children interested in tournaments, the club also helps build confidence for that next step.
